Michael Kobata Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 24, 2024.
With a heart as vast as the lakes and ocean he loved to fish, Michael Alan Kobata reeled in his final catch of life on January 16, 2024, at the age of 70, in his hometown of Fresno, California. He embarked on life's journey on August 27, 1953, in Fresno, and it's safe to say he left quite the legacy, hook, line, and sinker.

The captain of wit and humor, Michael never missed an opportunity to land a good joke, ensuring that belly laughs were the daily catch. His generous spirit was as infectious as his laughter, making waves in the lives of all who were lucky enough to sail in his company.

Navigating through life's challenges with the courage of a Marine, Michael served his country for seven years with honor, pride, and a twinkle in his eye. Post-service, he anchored himself at Dantel Corp. as a Customer Service Representative, steering clients through stormy issues with a calm and steady hand.

Michael's crew-his devoted wife, Nancy; first mates and sons, Christopher and Robert; and his precious deckhands, his four grandchildren-will continue to sail the seas of life, inspired by his love and guided by the North Star of his memory.

When he wasn't charting a course through family life or the corporate sea, Michael could be found with a golf club or fishing rod in hand, or plotting a course to his next travel destination. Each hobby was another voyage of joy for our intrepid explorer.

The good ship Chapel of the Light in Fresno, California, is now docked to honor Michael's final voyage. The crew there will navigate the waters of this time with care and respect.

All aboard are welcome to join in a celebration of Michael's life by leaving their memories here, where tales of his adventures will be shared, and the echoes of his laughter will resonate. Michael Alan Kobata's story may have reached its sunset, but the warm glow of his life will shine on.

For those seeking safe harbor for more information, please cast a line to Chapel of the Light, located in the heart of Fresno, where further details are moored. (Please note, as a courtesy to the family, no phone numbers are provided here.)
