Michael Laseter Obituary

Dr. Michael D. "Mike" Laseter, 62, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the St. Louis University Hospital. Dr. Laseter, son of the late Emerson and Aileen (Byrd) Laseter, was born Feb. 13, 1945, in Sikeston, Mo. A retired Physician, Dr. Laseter was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, in Poplar Bluff. He was a graduate from Arkansas State University, in Jonesboro, the University of Missouri School of Medicine, in Columbia, Mo., served an internship at Vanderbilt University as well as Duke University, completed a residency at the University of Missouri, and practiced medicine at Kneibert Clinic, in Poplar Bluff for nearly 20 years. Dr. Laseter was a Board Certified Diplomat of American Board Internal Medicine; a Member of the College of Physicians; a previous Director of Continued Medical Education Committee of Doctor's Regional Medical Center/Kneibert Clinic and a member of the CME Committee. On April 22, 1995, he married Donna Harrison, in Poplar Bluff. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Isaac Laseter, of the home and David Laseter, of Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Leslie Frazier, of Poplar Bluff and Joey Boyd, of Carl Junction, Mo; eight grandchildren Mykael Nagy, Bryce Boyd and Chase Boyd, of Carl Junction, Dustin Laseter, Mason Laseter and Tyson Laseter, of Salem Ore., and Ali Frazier and Ana Frazier, all of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Tammy Laseter Hollowell, of Huntington, Tenn.; two brothers, Jerry Laseter and Robert Laseter, both of Sikeston; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. Sunday at the First Untied Methodist Church, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kurt Schuermann officiating. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 500 North Main St., Poplar Bluff, MO 63901 or to a charity of one's choice. Cotrell Funeral Service, of Poplar Bluff is in charge of the arrangements.
