Michael John Ledger of Montgomery, Texas went home to be with our Lord on Friday, September 28, 2012. Michael was born on February 22, 1946 in Bromley, Kent, England. He moved to Texas in 1979 where he began his career in the Oil industry. He was President/Owner of Trafalgar Exploration Service, Inc., for the past 15 years.
Michael was an avid golfer and member of Walden Golf Club. He was happiest when he was on the golf course. He had many golfing "buddies" and played golf all around Houston.
While at M.D. Anderson, he loved to joke with the nurses and doctors. They were amazed at his quick wit and sense of humor. Everyone who knew Michael always commented on his love for people and the kindness he would show to everyone. He never met a stranger. His wife, Gwen was forever in awe of him.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, William J. H. Ledger of England and Bridget Lynch Ledger of Roscommon, Ireland. He is survived by his loving wife, Gwendolyn Brown Ellard Ledger; his daughters, Jessica Ledger, Carly Filippov (Greg), & Shay Bruton (John); his sons in England, Russell, Ben and Ryan Ledger; sister Josephine Powell-Richards (Mark); brother David Ledger (Sue), both of England; grandchildren,
Sarah, Rowan and Ethan Bruton of Mobile, Alabama; Milla and Scarlett Filippov of Houston, Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The service will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd at 7 pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, Texas, 20850 Eva Street (Hwy105). Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 3rd from 6-7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to MDA - Multiple Myeloma Research P. O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210 in his memory.
