I read his book on Jewish Renewal from cover to cover about five years, ago, and although I was already familiar with this style of worship and had been a member of several Jewish Renewal communities, finally reading his book opened me up to so many more ideas and points of view that I hadn't fully thought about or fleshed out for myself yet. It was one of the most meaningful books on Judaism that I have ever read. (And I read a lot, daily.) I remember after I finished it, I had the feeling Rabbi Lerner was probably on a genius level of intelligence, his ideas radiated out so brightly and sharply, like witnessing and trying to take in a sparkling kaleidoscope.
