Michael Lofton Obituary
A native of Mecklenburg County, he was the son of David P. Lofton and Meredith Patton Hall.
A memorial service will be held noon Saturday in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be private and at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Compassionate Friends of Charlotte, 8421 Earlham Ct, Charlotte, NC 28277.
Condolences may be made online at www.carothersfuneralhomegastonia.com.
Carothers Funeral Home is serving the Lofton family.

I miss and love you mike. Every day it gets harder to swallow the fact that well never get to see or hear your amazing self ever again. Sometimes I think about the future and I don't want it to come bc you won't be here with us to celebrate birthdays or holidays. You had the biggest heart mike, and had such an infectious spirit. Mike was a great kid. I remember him as a baby and then 20 years later as a young adult. He was always full of life and love for his friends. I know that he is in a better place by far than this one. Mike, you will be missed buddy.

It is still hard to imagine that lofton is no longer with us. He was such a great guy always put a smile on your face. He was like family I can't begin to imagine what his family is going through. He will truly be missed may he rest in peace .

Mike Lofton was very special to me, he never knew how much. I couldn't go to funeral but he was on my mind the entire day and still is. He had a great heart. I did everything I could for him. I cant get him out of my mind still to this day. I had much love for him. I lived with him for awhile and shared deep, dark secrets with him. even after we split up we still found time for each other. He didn't deserve this! I say a prayer for Mike and his family every night. Meredith, u were very good to me and im so sorry u had to go thru this. Please call me if u just want to talk or cry or even scream, im here for u just like u were there for me. I know he is in a better place and with Nikki. I love and miss u all, especially Tanner. I love u!!

We did not know Michael. But, we do know his grandmother, Carol Patton. From the 40 entries we have read so far, he was loved by many and was kind. As a former Hospice nurse, the bottom line was to be loved and to have done something important in your life. Looks like he did it. But, I am so sorry that this happened. Bigger than life!!!! Always had a smile and skilled beyond belief!!! Mike could fix anything, build anything and the best tattoo artist.Could give a hug that made you feel good on the inside.
