Michael Lunsford Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 29, 2018.
Michael Andre Lunsford, known as Mike to all, joined the Lord in Heaven on May 28th, 2018. Mike was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Herbert and Fern Lunsford on July 31st, 1946. He was the oldest of five boys.
Mike got to travel and live in many places as a military child. He told us many childhood stories about living in Japan. Mike joined the Navy and served and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his service in the Vietnam War. When Mike separated from the military with an Honorable Discharge, he traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he met the love of his life, Graciela.
Mike and Grace married on January 18, 1968. They had three children, Michelle, Christian and Monique. Mike was all about family and celebrating together. He loved birthdays and Christmas the most.
Mike is survived by his wife Graciela Lunsford, his children Michelle, Christian and Monique, his grandchildren Christian, Whitney, Madeline, Aadam and Angelica and his great grandchildren Neveah, Gracie, Logan and Emma.
Mike converted to Catholicism in 1980 at St. Benedict's Parish and is currently a member of St. Thomas More Parish. Mike was devoted to our Blessed Mother, offering three rosaries every single night as a part of a Marian Movement he joined.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't cry because I miss you.. everyone who knew Michael, knew a friend.. knew a person who absolutely loved making people laugh or smile. It's been so hard, hopefully I will see you again.

Dad...you left so suddenly that it is so hard to believe that you are gone. I love you so much! I know you are with God. Rest in the Arms of the Lord!

I remember the first time I met Mike. Grace had gone to Argentina to visit family and he came up to Michigan to see Tony and meet me. Through the years we were never close distance-wise; but we always knew that if we needed him he was there. I'll miss you, Mike. I know Nancy and Tony were among the first to greet you when you got to Heaven. Rest in Peace, big brother.

Grandpa, the girls and I miss you so very very much! As hard as it is that you're not here with us in body, you will always be here with us in spirit. We're glad you are no longer in pain and probably dancing with great grandpa and smiling down on us all. We love and miss you both so much! May you R.I.P and keep telling all those funny jokes that we all miss hearing, we will always be with grandma and take care of her so don't worry. We love you grandpa!

Love Always,
Nevy, Gracie & Whitney
