Michael LYNES Obituary
1954 - 2017
Michael died peacefully, surrounded by friends on Monday, April 3, 2017 in London, England after a courageous battle with cancer, marked by his serenity through it all. He was a firm believer in following one's bliss. For him it was music, fine arts and eastern philosophers. He is sadly missed by his brother George (Mercedes Carvajal), brother Paul, and sister Joanne (Robert Lipscombe); nephews Gregory, Mathew, David and Andrew; niece Catherine; and grandnephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents and brother John. Michael, a.k.a. Long Tall Mick, was a singer-songwriter for a number of bands including The Essentials of Montreal. He was also a prize-winning artist and art teacher. Before he left us he told us how proud and happy he was for the life he had managed to live doing what he loved. Funeral Mass and Burial in the family plot June 21 at 1:15, Notre Dame des Neiges Chapel on the hill, 4601 Chemin de la Cote des Neiges, (514) 735-1361.
