Michael McGEER

McGEER _ Michael Grattan Spencer, passed away peacefully Sunday October 26th, 2003 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, B.C. at the age of 81. Mike's family was his greatest joy. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by Trish, his wife of 54 years; his sons, Michael (Carole), Tim (Monique); daughters, Teal Ander (Gary), Nancy Beaty (Phil), and Julie (Dave Hudgins); his grandchildren, Melissa, Chris, Will, Eric, Rosie, Emma, Angus, Connor, Josephine, Kate, Kiah, Ava and Sophie; his friends, and also his beloved dog, Charlie. Michael was born on May 26th, 1922 in Vancouver and served in the RCAF as an air gunner in WWII. He was shot down over Nurermberg and spent 13 months as a prisoner of war. He graduated as a lawyer from UBC, and practiced law for many years in Vancouver. He was known for his colourful story telling, wonderful sense of humour, keen interest in current affairs and politics, love of tennis, and his beautiful watercolor paintings of Vancouver and Bowen Island. A memorial service will be held at St. Christopher's Anglican Church, 1068 Inglewood Ave, West Vancouver, B.C. on Saturday November 8, 2003 at 2:30 pm.
