Michael and I have been good friends since the 3rd grade in St. Peter's and at Allegheny High School. He was a big brother and looked after me when I joined the local #154 Boilermakers Union in Pittsburgh, Pa. Michael's smiles and laughter is greatly missed.

To my cousin Mike's family, deepest sympathy, my heart goes out to you all. I have such fond memories as a child ~ Mike always looked after me when I would visit. He was my Big Brother back then.
When we moved to Rhode Island there was a great distance between us but, in my heart I always loved Mike. He came to visit me this year, August 16th and took me out for dinner that is when he mentioned he was ill. I did not know until today when I left a message Happy Belated Birthday that he was in Heaven.
You will always be in my heart Mike.
Your Cousin ~ Mary Louise Bilby

In memory of a good friend.
Michael and I have been good friends since we met in the 3rd grade at St. Peter's grade school and have been good friends ever since.
We grew up in the same neighborhood, played sports and knew the family well. Michael was full of jokes and we had a great deal of laughs together. He was a kind and generous person who would go out of his way to help you in anyway he can. A great man, he will be missed, and I truly will miss his friendship.

Dear Patti, Sean, Seamus, Stephen and Colleen,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your loving husband and father. I know it hurts but rest assured he is in heaven. I want you to know that I feel a deep loss as well. Mike Murphy was the big brother that I never had. He was a inspiration to me both professionally and personally. Never more important than or ignoring of those in his presence. His friendship and guidance will be missed forever by me and everyone who knew him. He was loved and no man can have more in life!

Patty and Family, needless to say how bad i feel with Mikes passing. We were so close those many years ago working together, living together, spending so much quality time together, our birthdays were even the same, (jan,16th). I always tell everyone that Mike was the most goodhearted and generous man i knew. I could tell countless stories about Mike.i can honestly say that i witnessed many incredible acts of kindness like when we bought horses when we worked in Michigan and Mike took a little girl to the tack shop and bought her a new saddle, bridle and all that goes with it because her parents could not afford it.. This is the kind of fine man he was.He and Patty even returned to Michigan to be best man in my wedding.. noone could ever ask for a better best man. It is a shame how sometimes people drift apart but in my heart Mike will always be my brother..

I first met Mr. Michael Murphy about 15 years ago. I liked him immediately and we became friends. He and his wife, Patty are very good people and I enjoy living in the small house I rent off of them. Michael had a wonderful mother and she helped him to become the man he was in life. Michael was a fair man, but set in his ways. I learned from Michael and he was an inspiration to me. He was kind and compassionate and would give you the shirt off of his back; all you had to do was ask. I am sorry of his passing and the suffering he endured, but Michael never complained! He was brave, a very good father and husband and he will be in my heart as a testament to how loving and caring a person can be in this world. Michael worked hard and never asked for anything, but he gave willingly and from his heart! May Michael be at peace and take his place in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you Michael for being who you were! Chris Musser, your friend.
