Michael Timothy, age 62, passed away suddenly at home on February 27, 2017. He was a proud life-long resident of Harrington Park and will be sorely missed by all that knew him. Mike was a professional tree climber for over 20 years, first employed by Murtaugh Tree Service of Westwood and later for Hilcorp of Alpine. Mike was born on December 3, 1954, in New York City. He grew up in Harrington Park and graduated from Northern Valley Old Tappan HS in 1973. Mike was a biker who was particularly fond of his Harley Davidsons. He was also an avid reader and never shy to talk politics with anyone. He was a friend to all and enemy to none. Mike is survived by his five siblings DJ McCabe of Denville, Bill and Ginny Murtaugh of Westwood, his twin sister Trish Francavilla and Bob of Closter, John and Anne Murtaugh of Westwood, and Megan and John Dippolito of Harrington Park. He is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews and 13 grandnieces and grandnephews whom he adored and loved. He is preceded in death by his parents Allan and Peggy Murtaugh of Harrington Park, and brother-in-law Don McCabe of Denville. Visitation will be Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood from 2-6 PM and a Memorial Mass to celebrate Mike's life will be held at Our Lady of Victories in Harrington Park on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Harrington Park Fire Department or the Harrington Park Ambulance Corps.
