I am so sorry that I didn't hear of Mike's passing until recently. I am a fellow 64 Mars graduate and a fellow North Allegheny teacher but Mike was an administrator so I had to "pretend" not liking him. Nothing FURTHER from the truth. He always found humor, and for an administrator, that was a rare quality, The posts I read here illustrate how popular he was.

I want to extend my sincere condolences to your entire family. I had the pleasure of working with your father at FC for his entire time there. He had a great sense of humor and compassion for all.

Sean and Jennifer, the news of your dad's death was heartbreaking to hear. Mike was our co-worker and one of our closest friends when we were young. We have memories of many times spent with you and your family when you were kids. He contacted us last year, and talked about how well you were both doing. He was very proud of you and loved his grandchildren dearly. Please know we are thinking of you and hold your father in a special place in our hearts.

Sean and Jenny,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your dad was truly an amazing man. He was always so nice and kind to me and an awesome soccer coach. We always had the BEST parties at your house growing up. It is one of my most FAVORITE memories as a kid. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sean and Jennifer,
I am sincerely sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. He and I shared many memorable moments both as educators and as friends outside of the classroom. His wry sense of humor and zest for life are something I will always hold dear.

So sorry for your loss. Mike (Mr. Nealon to me) was my 5th grade Teacher at Braun Elementary School in Shaler. He was, and still is in my book, the coolest teacher in the world. I have great memories of those old days, like when he gave us "the talk", and when he started a flag football team at the school. Too many memories to count.....My parents were even in a Bowling League with him. Later in life, I had the pleasure of working in his building while he was at North Allegheny. I had come full circle and become a teacher, just like him. I start year 25 this year, and I can only hope that I have had half as much impact on my students as he had on me. I will have a dinner with my Family in his Honor, and will continue to carry his Lessons to the next generation of Teachers. God Bless.

One of my best memories of Mike is going to the St. Barnabas fire works in a convertible and blasting Stand By Me. And all of the bonfires our families had together after soccer games. Thanks for the memories. Prayers for Sean and family and Jenny.

Sean & Jennifer,
Please accept my deepest sympathy. Your dad was my principal at Reserve. What I remember most was his sense of humor and good hearted nature. I will have a drink to toast his memory, I think he would like that.
