Michael Noonan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Sep. 12 to Sep. 13, 2006.
MICHAEL JOSEPH NOONAN, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, September 10, 2006. However, he won a much bigger victory as he went to live eternally with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Born on April 17, 1949, in Glens Falls, New York, Michael attended St. Michael's College in Vermont, studied abroad in Rome, and then received his law degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio in 1974. Michael practiced law in the Houston area since 1977 and developed close friendships with many of his clients. Michael married Mari, the "love of his life" in 1984 and moved to Sugar Land. He was an avid golfer and shared this passion with both of his sons. An active member of the Quail Valley Church, Michael lived a life of faith and service. He was known for his generosity in helping others in his community. Michael leaves behind a great legacy of unselfish compassion. Survivors include his wife, Mari; his sons, Brandon and Brett Noonan; stepchildren, Greg Samyn and wife, Tracy, and Jillian Malloy; sisters Pat Douvelis and husband George, Janie Tagliabue and husband Carl; brother, Danny Noonan; granddaughters Hailey and Meghan Samyn; grandson, Matt Bush; and a host of friends. Serving as Pallbearers will be Joel Bouldin, Toufic Daniel, James Day, Ronn Goodier, Bob Harrell, Chris Herndon, Wayne Murray and Paul Stork. Honorary pallbearers are David Faulkner, Frank Hood, and Adel Dreik. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 7 until 9 PM on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 in The Chapel of The Settegast-Kopf Co. At Sugar Creek, (Williams Trace exit). A celebration of Michael Noonan's life will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Quail Valley Church, 2303 FM 1092 (Murphy Road), Missouri City, TX. The family would like to thank Dr. Philip Salem and his staff, Dr. Dale and Sandy Faulkner and staff, and everyone at the St. Luke's Kirby Glen Clinic for the wonderful care and support they provided throughout Michael's illness. Special appreciation goes to neighbor and dear friend Laura Winters for all the loving care and kindness she provided during Michael's illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quail Valley Church, 2303 FM 1092, Missouri City, TX, 77459, for support of the foster children of Beverly Young.

To Mike's family:
I just learned of his death and I am so saddened. Mike was my real
estate attorney and I enjoyed working with him so much. I was a newbie RE investor and he kept me from making costly mistakes. He was a great advisor. I will miss him. Although I never met any of his family I want to pass along my appreciation for having known him and send my condolences.

Dear Mari, Brandon & Brett, We have known Mike since about 1980 when we started in real estate full time. Mike was always a tremendous help and advisor; right up to this year when we successfully concluded another case. I always admired his courage and determination. I will miss him very much.

We have just returned from England and missed the memorial service. Sara & I send our love to you all and pray that God's comfort and blessing will be upon you during this very difficult time. His peace is in Mike; look beyond the present cloud to see and receive His peace for all of you.

Love and prayers for you all.

Dear Patty, Janie and Danny, I am sorry to hear of Michael's passing. I hadn't seen him in years, but we were neighbors for many years on Dix Avenue, when you were all growing up there. He was always a good kid and sensitive to others' feelings so I was not surprised to learn that he became a lawyer and held fast to the values he learned as a child. My prayers are with you all at this time.

Peace and love,

Betty (Clarke) Lee your old neighbor

To Mike's Family: I'm deeply saddened to hear about Mike's death. I grew up with him in Glens Falls and remained friends while both lived in Albany, NY. I have so many great memories of him at St. Mary's. He was a great athlete and student, always reaching for excellence. But most importantly, he was a good person, always kind to everyone. You are in my prayers. P.S. The last time I saw Mike was at the Masters in Augusta.

Michael was a wonderful cousin, committed friend, best lawyer I had,but above all, Michael was a guardian angel. He was always there for all his family, friends, neighbors and to his church. Michael loved to give and assist those looking for the way, the truth and the life of our savior Jesus Christ.

To Mari, Brandon and Brett, my mom, sister and brother join me in offering our heartfelt love and sympathy. Michael and all the Noonan's will always be a part of our life and love. May God bless Mari, Brandon and Brett so they can continue the great mission that Michael started. To all those superb friends and neighbors of the Noonan's a great THANK YOU and may The Lord bless each and every one of you all.

Our Christian faith and our love to our Savior will comfort all of us knowing that The Lord loved Michael more than us and he invited him to live in His kingdom where there is no pain, no suffering and no sorrow.

May Michael memory be eternal.

As a client I had the privilege of working with Michael for a couple of years. I knew he was a special man, a man of God when every Easter he would change his recording to say He is Risen! My deepest condolences to his family.

The Noonan and extended family and friends,

Mike will always be a man who I looked up to for many years. He took me under his wing when i was only 19 years old as his assistant little league coach when Brandon was 10. Now 30, I still remember the words of wisdom from this unselfish man. Mike will always be like a second father to me. He leaves a wonderful legacy for his two sons and his wife, who he adored so very much. Mari, Brett, and Brandon, I love you all and I'm here if you need anything.

Your Friend,

Sherell Brannon Hill

Dear Mari, Brandon & Brett, Michael was one of the strongest men I've ever met. Even the way he fought his disease. I'm so grateful we got to spend that time together last spring with you all. It was a real honor. I have many fond memories - Disney World, Las Vegas, golf - all the family stuff. My kids always remembered everything Michael told them. Remember the riddles? - John would come home with them. I'm so sorry we had to lose him. These memories will always be a part of our family history. We're all grieving with you at your loss. Love,

Peg Noonan Hunsberger

Michael was a wonderful cousin to me when we were growing up. I was always proud to see him on the basketball court. He wrote me a beautiful letter last spring. It was a blessing to know that he had given his life to Jesus. He was a wonderful man. I was proud to have him in my family. I want to give my condolences to his family, expecially Jane, Carl and Patty and Danny. With love and prayers for God's blessings, Peggy Noonan Hunsberger
