Michael G. O'Mara

On January 8, 2013, Michael Gerard O'Mara went from a life filled with love to Love itself.

Mike is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eilene; and their eight children, Kathy Long (Richard), Kevin O'Mara (Kathy), Sherry Newbern (Tom), Patti Long (Jack), Colleen Mueller (Mark), Jim O'Mara, Jeanne O'Mara and Christy O'Mara. He was the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mike was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed doing charity work at Saint Vincent DePaul, was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 3989 Florence.

Visitation will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at noon officiated by Father Andrew Sullivan. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus. The Reverend Sylvester Fangman Assembly No. 1681 will serve as honor guard.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of Glenwood Rehabilitation Center, ECM ICU and Dr. Ricky Irons for their exceptional care.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Aloha Dear O'Mara Family. I am so sorry to hear of your great loss. You are all a beautiful example of Love and family. It is truly a priveledge to know you.
I am in Maui and am sorry I cannot be with you to celebrate your Father's extraordinary life and amazing legacy of love that lives on in all of you.
I will place flowers for him in the ocean tonight at sunset honoring in a small way my tremendous respect, gratitude and love for a life lived so well!!

Eileen and family. Just received word about Mikes passing and am so sorry that I cannot be present to say farewell. Mike was so kind and gentle in every way.
