DAVENPORT-Funeral services for Michael D. 'Captain Billy' Overstreet, 75, of Davenport, will be 11:00 am on Wednesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 9:00 am to service time at the mortuary.
Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Michael Passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center - East Campus, Davenport.
Michael Dennis Overstreet was born on August 21, 1943 in Davenport, IA, the son of Vincent and Marian (Wriedt) Overstreet. He married Shirley Meincke in February of 1965, they were later divorced. Michael was a member of the St. Patrick's Society, and was an avid Elvis fan.
Survivors include his daughter; Lisa (Ron) Prior of Davenport, son; Aaron (Kristi) Overstreet of Bettendorf, grandchildren; Justin, Mathew, Carter, Michael's companion of many years; Mary Bernauer of Davenport, Mary's daughter; Shelly (Tom) Fritz, and their children, Tiffany and Hannah of Davenport, Mary's son: Steve (Angie) Bernauer, and their children; Raya and Kayla of Bettendorf, brothers; Robert 'Buffalo' Overstreet of Ohio and David Overstreet of Bettendorf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Edward and ex-wife; Shirley.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Childrens Hospitals.

Not sure why the captain crossed my mind the other day. He was a great friend of my Father, Tom Pope. I have many good memories spent in your collectible shops playing pinball as a kid and going to Elvis/beach boy/buddy holly shows. Many summers spent at car shows in Clear lake at the surf ballroom. I sometimes wonder if our signatures are still there. Rest in peace to a good man.

Very sorry for your loss. A great guy who loved rock and roll and memorabilia from that super era. I always looked forward to his and Mary's visits to Emma Rae's Antiques where The Captain and Mary have been mega vendors for over 3 years. He will be missed and thought about every day.
