Michael Lee Parrish

Michael Lee Parrish, born on September 18, 1958, in Hopewell, Virginia, passed away on September 9, 2024, in Richmond, Virginia. Known for his exceptional sense of humor and witty nature, Michael lived life to the fullest, always ready with a joke and never taking life too seriously. He cherished his wife, Wanda S. Parrish, deeply and found joy in the company of his family and his many animals.

Michael attended Hopewell public schools for both his primary and high school education, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed interests that he would carry into his later years. As an adult, Michael created a personal sanctuary in his man cave, a place where he enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his beloved pets.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda S. Parrish; children, Michelle Scott, Wesley Scott (Priscilla); Adrienna Hurley (Aaron) and his cherished grandchildren, Cailey, Kadence, and Aden. Brayden, Hunter, A.J., Kinsley,

Michael also leaves behind his siblings, Shawn M. Parrish, Dennis W. Parrish (Holly), Kenneth D. Parrish (Jill), Joyce A. Lewis, Terri L. Farley, Kimberly P. Hughes (Tommy), and Debbie K. Payne, along with his special sister-in-law, Tina Gibbs. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter L. Parrish, Patricia M. Parrish, and Joann H. Blowe, nephew, Shawn M. Parrish.

A service to celebrate Michael's life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Hopewell, Virginia, led by Pastor Renee Teague. Michael's memory will be cherished by all who knew him as a man who loved deeply, laughed heartily, and always brought light into the lives of those around him.
