Michael Passmore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 28, 2025.
Michael "Mike" Robert Passmore passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Fort Myers, Florida, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Born on February 8, 1951, on the naval base in Charleston, South Carolina, Mike was the son of Robert "Bob" and Jean (Sperling) Passmore. After spending two years in Michigan, his family settled in Brasher Falls, New York. He attended St. Lawrence Central School, where he played football, hockey, and basketball, graduating in 1970. Following graduation, Mike traveled out west before ultimately making Fort Myers his home. It was there that he met Jeanine Welker, whom he married in 1984.

Mike made a career building houses and installing cabinets but was best known for his ability to bring laughter to those around him. A lover of the outdoors, he found joy in boating, fishing, lobstering, gardening, and simply "just living life."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jean Passmore. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeanine (Welker) Passmore; his beloved daughter, Shaunna Passmore; and his two grandsons, Chase and Cole George, who were the highlights of his life. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Donovan and Laura Passmore; his brother, Donald Passmore; and many nieces and nephews.

Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

No services will be held at this time.
