Michael Wayne Pirie

Michael Wayne Pirie went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2011. He was born June 18, 1992 in Orlando, FL. Michael graduated from Lake Highland Prep and was currently a freshman at the University of Florida. Michael was an Academic Scholar on the Dean’s List at Lake Highland. He played in the band and on the drum line with both Lake Highland and the University of Florida. Michael was leader of the FCA Freshman Bible Study. He played in the youth group band in Orlando and with the FCA worship team in Gainesville. He is survived by his mother Sandra Haines and step father Richard Haines; father Brent Pirie; sisters Lauren and Rebecca Pirie; grandparents Bob and Ruth Vanderlugt and Bob and Bette Rae Pirie; step sister, step brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and an uncountable number of friends. A visitation will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 2-5PM at the Baldwin Fairchild Lake Ivanhoe Chapel. Funeral service will be Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 2PM at the Bourne Chapel on the Charles Clayton Campus of Lake Highland Preparatory School. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of UF, 10401 SW 8th AVE, Gainesville, FL 32607, www.fca.org and enter code 108430 for the UF chapter. Shuttles from the main campus of Lake Highland, 901 N. Highland Ave Orlando, FL 32803 will be available on Sunday to transport over to the Bourne Chapel on the Charles Clayton Campus, 741 N. Mills Ave Orlando, FL 32803.
