POLASH – Michael R., 71, Windber, went to be with the Lord Nov. 8, 2009, at Windber Hospice. Born Sept. 24, 1938, in Windber, son of Michael J. and Susan (Benko) Polash. Preceded in death by parents and wife, Dorothy A. (Gogo) Polash. Survived by son, Larry M. Polash, married to the former Lorrie Steadman, Windber; granddaughters, Abbey, Allie and Megan; sister, Mary Ann, wife of Charles "Skip" Wissinger, Johnstown; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Shearman; and brother-in-law, George Gogo, and wife, Kathy, both of Windber; and numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Army veteran. Former employee of Cunsolo Furniture, Windber; Helms - PIE Nationwide; GoGo's Service Station, Windber; and W.T. Grant Co. Member of Masonic Lodge 538, Johnstown, and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Committal, St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Windber. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Donations may be directed to Windber Hospice in Michael's memory.

I remember Mike when he was a young man. So good looking and such a nice young man.
To my dear friend MaryAnn, I am so sorry for your loss. You were the best kind of sister to Mike. May you & your family be at peace and know he is in a better place.

My deepest sympathy to the Polash and Wissinger families. I grew up with Mike and Mary Ann on Jefferson Ave.and their parents were my mom and dad's friends also. I have many fond memories of those days. May God comfort you in your time of sorrow.
