Michael Popp Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 16, 2024.

Michael Roy Popp was born February 14, 1973, died October 22, 2024, and lived most

of his life in the San Diego area. He was a talented athlete in his youth and excelled in

soccer and nearly every physical endeavor he attempted. He attended public schools in San Diego and graduated from the School of Creative and Performing Arts High School and then pursued employment in the restaurant and construction industries. Initially he

received training and an Associate's Degree as an electrician but became equally adept in

many facets of construction and spent several years maintaining properties and working as a general handyman. He enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together and his family often marveled at his confidence and ability to fix things from a very young age.

Michael was an outgoing and gregarious person throughout his life. He easily made friends and was very generous with others in their times of need including volunteering with Feeding America. Michael was always an independent spirit and was eager to explore what the world had to offer. He enjoyed playing video games, riding motorcycles and challenging himself to contemplate new ideas and figure things out for himself. Those who loved him will miss his quick laugh, his helping hand and his open heart. Michael is survived by his father, Dean Popp, his mother, Sharon Popp and his sister, Amy Popp.
