Michael J. Ranson

Ranson – Michael J. age 79 of Philadelphia passed away peacefully at the VA home on May 22, 2022. Son of the late Michael Ranson and Anna (Merrick) & John Stathius. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Donohue), of 50 years and his beautiful daughter, Kirsten. Michael leaves behind five siblings, a brother & sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews. After graduating from Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia, class of 1960, Michael entered the Army and proudly served in Vietnam for two years as a medic. He is a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the Northeast Philadelphia Lions Club and Loudenslager Post #366. Returning home, Michael started his career in the travel industry at AAA, and continued in this business, eventually owning his own travel agency, A. Crescent Travel. Mike was well respected in the Travel Industry for decades. Aside from his family, friends and business, Mike loved music and was blessed with an incredible voice, entertaining many over the years even up through his stay at the VA Home. Celebration of Michael's Life will be on June 8th from 11:30AM to 12:30PM, John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Road, Philadelphia followed by a prayer service and Inurnment with Military Honors at the National Cemetery at Washington Crossing at 2PM.
