Michael G. Redeker, age 72, passed away on Tues, Apr. 16, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House, Manhattan, KS. He was born on Mar. 10, 1952, to John Jr. and Laura (Dieker) Redeker, in Emporia, KS.

Michael married his High School sweetheart Kathy (Schneider) Redeker on Jun. 24, 1972 in Olpe, KS.

Michael was a skilled carpenter, and retired from the Emporia State University Carpenter Shop, He got much enjoyment creating treasured keepsakes for his grandchildren, family, and friends, He had a sense of humor and made it his goal to make someone laugh each day. Entertaining family and friends in his shop was one of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, golfing, and always looked forward to Summer fishing with his grandsons, and playing at the park with his granddaughters. The farm, the front porch, and the Flint Hills were some of his favorite places.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy; sons, Ryan (Alicia) Redeker, Olpe, KS, Andrew (Stacey) Redeker, Kansas City, MO, Nathan (Erin) Redeker, Manhattan, KS; brothers, Don (Pam) Redeker, Manhattan, KS, Larry (Rose), Ken (Debra), Bob (Brenda) Redeker, all from Olpe, KS; sisters, Marie (Charlie) Haag, Olpe, KS and Laurie (Phil) Eichman, Manhattan, KS; 4 grandsons, Hunter, Dawson, Walker, Karsyn; 2 grand-daughters Lauren and Addison; and a brother in law, Danny Schmidt, Emporia, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marjorie Schmidt.

Services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Olpe, KS. Rosary will be recited Tuesday April, 23rd at 7pm.

Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday April, 24th at 10:30am.

Memorials may be made out to Manhattan Catholic Schools or St. Joseph Parish Life Center in care of Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan, KS 66502
