Michael Scafidi Obituary
Michael Scafidi, Jr.
Michael Scafidi, Jr., 82, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023. He was born August 3, 1940, in the Bronx, NY, to the late Michael and Angeline Scafidi. He married Maureen Meehan on May 19, 1962. Mike and Maureen were married 60 years before Maureen passed away on October 24, 2022. Mike served in the US Navy and was a proud veteran.
Mike is survived by his four daughters, Karen Scafidi (Ed Boddie), Hampstead, NC, Theresa Cacace, Murrells Inlet, SC, Donna Gooler (Stephen), Hampstead, NC and Linda Kelly (Joseph), Wilmington, NC, eleven grandchildren, Danielle Nytko (Danny), Lauren Wynne (Emmanuel), Shaun Gooler (Amanda), Michael Wynne (Lexi), Cassandra Cacace (Graham), Ryan Gooler (Rebecca), Anthony Wynne (Tory), Briana Brandon (Haywood), Samantha Cacace (Luke), J.J. Kelly, and Jack Kelly, eight great-grandchildren, one on the way, and four bonus great-grandchildren. His siblings Ninfa Annunziata (Vincent), Mary Stasolla, and Edward Scafidi (Dora) also survive him as well as many sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mike was preceded in death by his siblings Frank Scafidi, Angela Nunziata, Walter Scafidi and Martin Scafidi.
Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local hospice or the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina (https://dementianc.org/) in Mike's memory.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the caregivers of Liberty Home Care & Hospice Services.

He overcame so much and had so much humility. He lived a full life and put his family as the center of his universe. I always admired what he accomplished. May he rest in peace beside Maureen his true partner.
