Michael Joseph Scherer, known to friends and family as Mike and recognized by the grace he carried through life's many roles, departed our world on August 14, 2024, in Dover, New Hampshire at the age of 67. Born June 15, 1957, at Ernest Harmon AFB in Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada.Mike's narrative embodying the virtues of a life well-lived, marked by unwavering integrity and enduring warmth.

Educated within the communal embrace of Portsmouth High School, Mike forged a path of upstanding labor and quiet achievement. His career beginning at Diagram Industry, progressing through Palmer and Chenard and Neslab, and including a stint at a local radio station. He concluded his professional journey at Beranger VW, where his commitment and industrious spirit were evident to all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Mike's life away from work was equally rich, characterized by his love for sports
playing and watching, and music playing and listening, Yet above all, it was the bond of family that completed Mike's world, a sphere illuminated by the love of his wife, Laura, the pride he took in his sons, Darren and Michael, the happiness shared with his daughter, Tina, and the sheer delight of his grandsons, Cole and Alex.

He leaves in his wake the fond memories that can only be sown by such a figure-his mother, Carol Ann Scherer; his siblings, Susan Henry, Kate Coussoule, Brian and Sharon Scherer, alongside their families; and his brother-in-law, Rick and Wanda Walker, with his kin. Each will carry forward a piece of Mike's story in their hearts. His many friends from school and work and the JC's.

Preceding Mike in his journey to the hereafter were his father, Jerry Scherer, and cherished relatives including Dorren and Frank Lang, Jack Chauvin, and his extended family, Richard and Irene Walker, and Ellen Walker. Each, in their passing, left a stardust trail for Mike to follow when his time came.

In accordance with the wishes of Mike and his family, a private interment will take place, and a gathering will be held at a later date to honor the remarkable life he led. As a nod to Mike's compassionate spirit and love for animals, the family kindly suggests that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to commemorate Mike may make a donation to a charity of their preference, with a nod to the causes of animal rescue he held dear.

Michael Joseph Scherer's departure is not merely a moment of farewell but an invitation to reflect on a traditional life characterized by steadfast love, dedicated work, and the quiet heroism of everyday existence. May his memory remain a guiding light and an inspiration to all.
