AGE: 64 • Berkeley Twp.

Michael R. Stecher, 64, of the Holiday City Berkeley section of Berkeley Twsp. died on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. Born in Irvington, NJ he lived in Iowa and Atlantic Highlands, NJ before moving to Holiday City in 2001. Michael was a graduate of Parsons College in Iowa with a BS in English and History and also his Masters degree. He was a Professor at Iowa State University and later worked for the Union County Probation Dept. Michael was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlantic Highlands and the Elks Lodge 233 Red Bank, NJ.

Predeceased by his mother, Marion, he is survived by his father, Michael J. of Toms River, NJ; his sister, Diane Guinn of Hazlet, NJ; a niece, a nephew and many loving Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 12noon until a service at 1pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. Burial will follow to Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. Condolences may be sent to www.ryanfuneralhome.com
