Michael Yoch Obituary
Michael Roy Yoch, 70, of Red Bud, IL, born April 10, 1947, in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at his residence with his family by his side.
Mr. Yoch was a proud United States Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Newport News from 1965 to 1969. He loved to spend time outdoors with his sons and grandsons. Mr. Yoch worked for the Dynegy Midwest Baldwin Energy Complex in Baldwin, IL, for 38 years. After retirement, he enjoyed beekeeping and collecting and restoring vintage relics and vehicles.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence H. and Dorothy Lucille, nee Faith, Yoch; and a brother, David A. Yoch.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Karen S., nee Knoth, Yoch, whom he married on October 16, 1970, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton IL; three sons, Craig M. (Sara) Yoch, Chad D. (Tarah Baldwin) Yoch, and Chase C. (Laura) Yoch; three grandsons, Calin Yoch, Bryton Yoch and Wyatt Yoch; two brothers, Timothy Yoch and Thomas Yoch; a sister, Maria (Neal) Tiberend; a brother-in-law, Richard Knoth Sr.; several nieces and nephews; and his cherished dogs, Jack and Zoe.
Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic School Annual Fund. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL, with Rev. Kenneth York officiating.
Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

I knew Mike thru our interest in old trucks and our friendship went from exchanging emails to visits when we would travel to the St. Louis area. Mike was the type of person that made everyone feel welcome and he could have a conversation about anything with anyone! I will miss our occasional conversations with one awesome guy!

Karen I am so sorry for your lose, I knew Mike and his family for many many years, when we were younger he used to help on our family farm, Mike was a good guy and will be missed, sorry for not staying in touch more, but we always think maybe tomorrow, and sometimes there is no tomorrow, prayers are with you and your family in your time of sorrow

Many years ago when I was away at college, my parents went to Lambert to meet my flight home. As we waited for my luggage, my father struck up a conversation with a nice young man in a naval uniform. He didn't yet have a ride home to Smithton, and since we were going to rural Millstadt, we gave Mike a ride home. Our paths crossed a time or two over the next few years, and I always remembered Mike as a fine, good person. Rest in peace, Mike. My sincere condolences to your family.`
