Michael Zarrella Obituary
Mikey's smile introduced his presence and filled a room with light before ever speaking a word. He had a great, genuine love for children including his siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. His vast knowledge impressed many, he could comment on everything from the presidential election to Wu Tang lyrics, and he would engage in conversations lasting longer than you'd realize. Mikey had a unique wit and humor, making anyone who crossed paths with him an instant friend. "I'm 100%" was his favorite response when asked how he was, which only further revealed the positive outlook he had on life. Mikey never judged; he welcomed everyone with a warm sincerity, kind eyes, and an unforgettable smile. He was a man of faith, believing in the power and strength of our Lord and the beauty and peace of the afterlife. "Mikey Z" will be forever missed by his loving family and countless number of friends.
Michael is predeceased by his beloved grandmother Lois DiNicola and brother Vinny Ciabattoni.
Michael is survived by his parents: Michael Zarrella, Father; Jamie DiNicola, Mother; Annie Zarrella, Heather DiNicola and Ronnie Barbetto; his siblings: Joseph Zarrella, Isabella DiNicola, Vanessa Sanchez, Rebecca Sanchez and Gabrielle Sanchez; his uncles: Louie DiNicola, Ronnie DiNicola, Nick DiNicola, Joey DiNicola and Alfred Zarrella; his aunts: Lori DiNicola, Colette Marchioli, Rosemary Zarrella, Kim Simpson and Robin DiNicola and his grandparents: Theresa Zarrella, Alfred Zarrella, Joan DiNicola and Joseph DiNicola.

Mikey, I knew you since you were 11 years old. I still laugh when I think of Jamie, Joey, and I going to Your football game. It was a cold day and we all had so much fun cheering you on and watching you play. My heart hurts for your wonderful family. Your mothers love was and will always be unwavering. That much I know! I was so deeply saddened when i heard of mikey's passing. I only knew him for a short period of time while we worked together at u.m.a. but he certainly was a bright light that stood out amongst the masses. He always had a smile on his face and he genuinely cared about the well-being of others. I'm so sorry for your loss, but I hope you take comfort in knowing what an incredible young man your family raised. He was one of those rare few who just radiated love and positivity. He truly was magnetic. May God be with you in these hard times and may his beautiful life live on through you.

What I love most about your big, fun, ethnically loud clan is how you all share your love so freely. The family is so big that it goes beyond blood and takes in so many others from all walks of life.
What this big beautiful family is going through now with the loss of Mikey is heartbreaking. Truly. Mikey was (and is!) such a bright light. A real character with a love of being silly and putting a smile on everyone's face. I feel so privileged to be connected to you all and especially to have known Mikey since he was a kid. He grew into such a handsome, sharp-dressed, fun-loving man. I can't believe he's gone. I'm so sorry you all have to go through this. It's unfair and not okay. I keep looking at the cursor, trying to think of something to say to my beloved Dee family. But I know there is nothing. I will never forget Michael's beautiful smile and laugh. The world was a better place because of him and I am blessed to have had him in my life. Jamie, you are the most amazing woman and mother. You have raised spectacular children. Joey, I love you always Marazarella. Lou, Ronnie and Nick (and Laurie, Renee and Robin) I was always envious of your nieces and nephews, wishing I had a family as close and as cool as yours. There are no words that can express how deeply saddened I am by this. I am praying for your entire family as well as mine. You see, my nephew Mark has lost his best friend.... a friend close like a brother. A friend he saw and spoke to everyday of his life since he was 10. Mikey kept Marks spirit uplifted and was a positive light in his life. I will miss hearing Mikey call me Aunt Jodi, I always felt honored he loved me like an Aunt. He will truly be missed.
