Michele Conte (Fink) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 2, 2025.
Passed away Saturday June 21st at Mills Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame after a series of illnesses.

Michele is survived by her partner of 38 years Kim Hutchinson and her many nieces and nephews, cousins and grand nieces and nephews who she loved, and they'll remember her fondly.

Michele is also preceded in death by her parents Michael (Mickey) and Francis Lewis Conte also of San Francisco. Her three brothers Clifford Sr., Reese (her twin) and John (Johnny Guy). and her aunt Josephine Valentino.

Michele was born along with her twin - June 6th, 1947, in Children's Hospital in San Francisco. She was raised as a Catholic on Arago St. in the Excelsior District. Where she attended Corpus Christi Catholic school. Her family later moved to South San Francisco. She attended Parkway Jr. High School and South San Francisco High School.

Her fondest memory was visiting her Italian grandparents who lived nearby on Cayuga Ave. The grandparents also had a summer house in Glenhaven, Clear Lake which she referred to as her "Happy Place" as a child as she spent her entire summer vacation, vacationing there for many years.

Later in life Michele owned Michele Conte's Restaurant/Coffee Shop on El Camino in San Bruno. When health forced her out of the restaurant business, she chose another path and started working at MSAS Freight Forwarders in South San Francisco. Accelerating from clerk to Admin. Mgr. during the 22 years until her retirement in 2007.

During her last 38 years of life. Michele enjoyed travelling, cruises and life in general. She was very outgoing, knew people in many places, and was friendly to those she met. But two of her greatest joys in life were her friends so much so she was addicted to Facebook to stay connected and her partnership with Kim of 38 years.

Michele will be missed and always in our heart, as her spirit lives on, in the memories her family, friends, and the times shared.

Michele will be interred at San Francisco Columbarium, on Loraine Ct. San Francisco.

I have known Michele since I was a young teenager. She had the restaurant next to our family restaurant. When I was 22 and went next door for lunch one day, (the best patty melt ever!) Michele looked at me and told me I was pregnant. I was! We didn´t see each other often over the years, life happens you know but thanks to Facebook I was able to keep in touch with one of my favorite friends in life. I´ll miss her. Sending my love to Kim who I also love very much, you and Michele were the perfect pair, and a part of my San Bruno memories I will cherish forever. Peace

You will never be forgotten. You will be missed, I will always remember the big hugs and the way you scolded me when I brought Tony all wrapped up in blankets to the restaurant.
