Michele HIRSHORN Obituary
"Shelly" age 73, of Tampa died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs, Hirshorn was a Registered Nurse and was the youngest head nurse at Kings County Hospital in New York where she was instrumental in establishing their first dialysis unit. She was a member of Congregation Kol Ami and was among the founders of Women's American ORT in Tampa. Survivors include her beloved husband of 52 years, Dr. Stephen Hirshorn; loving children and their spouses, Amy and Dr. Marty Sokol, Scott and Jessica Hirshorn, Dr. Kurt and Lindsey Hirshorn, Jessica and Dr.Jonathan Forman and Megan and Daniel Friedman; 17 cherished grandchildren; and her devoted brothers, Lawrence Herman and Richard Herman. Graveside services will be held today, (Tuesday) 10 am at Gan Shalom Cemetery, 3527 E. County Line Road in Lutz. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
