Michelle Marie Darnell

Michelle Marie Darnell, age 44, of Pittsburgh, Pa., died Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in Erie, Pa. on February 9, 1969, daughter of the late Edward Darnell and Marva Laverne Dance-Simmons. She graduated from East High School and earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, in 2011, from Point Park University, Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Vera and Ernest Dance, Sr., an uncle, Theodore Dance, and an aunt Virginia Marlene Dance, paternal grandmother, Ethel Darnell. Survivors include a son Daniel Allen Darnell of Pittsburgh; four brothers: Ted Dance of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mario Darnell, Michael Darnell, and Douglas Darnell, all of Erie; a sister Veronica Dance of Pittsburgh; a stepfather Bennie Ray Simmons of Erie; four aunts: Rosemary Wheaton, Sandra A. Sharp, Beverly Dance-Plaza, all of Erie, and Bertha Anderson, Somerset, Pa.; two uncles: Gary Dance, Sr. and Ernest Dance, Jr., both of Erie; nephews: Timothy Dance, Los Angeles, Calif., Thomas Dance, Holt, Mich., Tyler Darnell, Orlando, Fla., Brenden Parsons of Erie; one niece, Jessica Dance of Erie; a dear friend, Reggie Henry of Pittsburgh, former husband, Jimmy Crowell of Pittsburgh, and many cousins. Friends may call at Shiloh Baptist Church, 901 East 5th Street, Erie, PA 16507, on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m., with Reverend Anthony G.
