STARKO, Mike A. August 24, 1908 - September 12, 2003 Mike A. Starko of Edmonton, formerly of Chipman, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 years. He is survived by his loving family; wife, Josephine of 66 years; two daughters and three sons, Henrietta (Wallis) Petruk, Luella (Allan) Broder, Michael (Marge), Dr. Neil (Terry) and Dr. Eugene (Kathleen); thirteen grandchildren, Connie, Jane, Dean, Michele, Jason, Jorn, Clayton, Daynon, Nicholas, Malia, Matthew, Stephanie and Graham; four great-grandchildren, Jenna, Braden, Evan and Daylan; his brothers, Dr. Joseph (Jean), George (Rose), Dr. Al (Sophie); sisters, Jean Acthem and Amelia Wolansky. Predeceased by his parents, Alex and Mary (nee Eleniak); brothers, John, Dr. Peter, Nick; sisters, Rosemarie Kurach, Mary Hewko; and infant sister, Anna. May His Memory Be Eternal Vichnaya Pamyiat Prayers Wednesday, September 17 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 10825-97 Street. Divine Liturgy Thursday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. Very Reverend Michael Kowalchyk officiating with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. M.W. Friedman, Doctors and Nursing staff at the University of Alberta Hospital, Units 5G and 5C, and the Nursing staff at St. Michael's Long Term Care Centre for their care and support.
