Mikki Revenaugh Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 8, 2024.
It is with great sadness that the family of Mikki Revenaugh announce her passing. Mikki died on August 2, 2024, at the age of 93, in Southern California. Born on February 28, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she lived a long and fulfilling life. Mikki was the youngest of eight siblings, all born and raised in Pittsburgh, of Ukrainian/Ruthenian parents. The Ukrainian family heritage lived on through Mikki in her folk dance, cooking, and language.

Mikki and her then husband John Joseph Revenaugh began their life together in Washington D.C. and moved about the United States, settling in Anaheim California in 1960. They had six children- three boys, then three girls. After the youngest, Ruselle, entered elementary school, Mikki returned to California State University, Fullerton. She proudly graduated with a BA Degree in Psychology. After raising her children and caring for her family, Mikki worked as a legal assistant at a law firm; as a researcher at the USC chemistry laboratory; and with the City of Laguna Beach, Council on Aging. She enjoyed performing and teaching folk dance; canoeing; and waterskiing. Mikki lived in Laguna Woods the past 20 years where she was part of the Aquadettes - synchronized swim team. She was a voracious reader and spent many hours in the Laguna Woods Library. Mikki met with the Needleworks Club weekly where she knitted and crocheted extensively. Mikki will forever be remembered for her beautiful dancing and handmade creations.

Mikki is predeceased by her sons Raymond and Ronald Revenaugh. She is survived by her children Richard, Rene, Ria and Ruselle Revenaugh; her grandchildren Brandi Koehm, Jeffrey Revenaugh, James Stebick and Sara Stebick; her great grandchildren Garrison and Trevor Koehm, Jace and Liesel Revenaugh, and Mac and River Dyer Stebick.

A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held in her honor on Friday, August 16, at 9:30 a.m. in the Laguna Hills Community Center, Heritage Room, at 25555 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. Flowers appreciated, or in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Society of Folk Dance Historians, 1506 Rainbow Bend, Austin TX 78703, or the Orange County/Laguna Woods Library, 24266 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods, CA 92637, "in memory of Mikki Revenaugh".

Beautifully written. Sorry to read that Ron passed as well.

She always treated me with kindness, encouragement to be my own person and follow my heart and dreams. She had a great smile and laugh.

I´m glad I got to spend some time with her. She was very happy to see Kathy as well. She remembered us.
