How sad we were to learn of the loss of our dear friend Mel. He was such a warm and loving human being; he will be sadly missed. It was such a pleasure to work for Mel. Our memories are of a gentle giant with a heart of gold, and always that little bit of shirt hanging out of the back of his pants as he walked through the halls. Mel never forgot to send his love and best wishes to us both on any social occasion, always accompanied by a giant hug in Carol's case.

Our deepest sympathy to Angie and his family at this difficult time.

Mel was one of the great neighbourhood fathers we grew up with. He was always ready to feed us and joke with us. Even as we got older, he always had a great sense of humour around us. We will surely miss him and remember him always.
