Milburn Ray VanMeter, age 70, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.
He was born on May 8, 1946, in Grayson Co., KY, the son of the late Doyle and Margerie Grace Whitman VanMeter.
He was a Vietnam army veteran who received two bronze stars; he was a former owner of Consumer's Tire, and is presently the Grayson County PVA. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and farming and was a member of the Rotary Club and attended the God's Way Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Willis VanMeter; one son, Aaron VanMeter, of Leitchfield; one daughter, Angela VanMeter, of Cecilia, KY; one brother, Terry VanMeter, of Leitchfield; four sisters, Elizabeth Kiper, of Charlotte NC, Louise VanMeter, Judy Lush and Joyce Embry, all of Leitchfield; and several nieces and nephew also survive.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Buddy Brooks will be officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I am so sorry for this loss. Milburn was always kind and always smiling. He will be greatly missed.
