It was my pleasure to assist Mildred for many years. She was constantly thinking of ways to help those who were blind, visually impaired, or handicapped in some way, to live more vibrant and successful lives. She truly was a phenominal woman and leader in the field of low vision instruction who leaves her mark on all those who had the honor of working with her. My sympathies go out to her devoted family and friends. She will be sorely missed. Betty Wooten
