HUDSON FALLS Mildred R "Millie" McAuley, 86, of Moss Street, went into the arms of the Lord on Oct. 23, 2007, at the Eden Park Health Care Center. Born on May 15, 1921, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Isabel (Brayton) Saville. She married Robert S. McAuley on Aug. 11, 1943, at the First Baptist Church in Hudson Falls Parsonage. For 35 years, she was employed as a nursing assistant on the maternity floor at the Glens Falls Hospital. Millie is still remembered and loved by many for the loving care that she provided to all. She called the nursery "the rose garden." Millie was proud to attend the birth of her grandchildren. She was honored as the first employee of the year at the Glens Falls Hospital. Millie was a lifelong member of the Hudson Falls First Baptist Church and was involved with its American Baptist Women group. She was also a member of the Glens Falls Hospital Guild. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert S. McAuley; her two sons, Robert McAuley Jr., and Thomas McAuley; and her grandson, Jami Ovitt. Survivors include her children, Barbara Trombley and her husband, George, of Hudson Falls, John McAuley and his wife, Florence, of Queensbury, Brinda Ovitt and her husband, Milford, of Fort Edward; her grandchildren, Tom McAuley and his wife, Trish, Barbara Morency and her husband, Edward, Tammy McAuley, Angela Trombley, Laurie Trombley, Rebecca Williamson and her husband, John, Dr. Timothy McAuley, Michael Richardson, John T. McAuley and Scott McAuley; her great-grandchildren, David, Morgan, Marisa, Nicholas and Natalie Wright, Hannah and Mackenzie Williamson, Brendan and Kevin McAuley, Madison, Carrigan and Riley Morency, Victoria McAuley and Cody Ovitt; as well as many close friends that she considered family. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 25, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls, with the Rev. Scott Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury. Millie loved all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the same. She had no favorites; she always had enough love for everyone.

Brinda, Barbara and Millie's Entire Family,
May God surround you all with His infinite love and peace as you grieve the loss of one so dear to you, now and in the days to come. I enjoyed chatting with Millie and family members in the lobby of Eden Park many evenings when I was there. No matter how she was feeling she always asked how Gene was doing and wished me a good night. What a wonderful reunion she must be having with those who went to Heaven before her! I wish I had had the opportuniy to know Millie better.

I worked with Millie on maternity in the 50's and 60's and many nights gave her a ride home. What a special lady, she was loved by all. I never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She would always rise to the occasion.

I had the pleasure of working with your Mom/Nana almost 30 years ago when I was training as an OB nurse shortly after my graduation from nursing school. She ALWAYS had a smile on her face and spoke so proudly and lovingly of her family. I am glad you had her in your lives all of this time -- hang on to your memories. She was a sweet lady. Cousin Millie was always the sunshine we needed to lift our spirits. A loving smile, a warm hug, a gentle kiss, you knew she loved you without question. Her sweet tender voice always comforted you, even when she was holding your hand in the labor room. I loved her dearly.
She will be our Guardian Angel.

My best friends "Nana" was a very sweet, soft spoken, caring grandmother. She was always considerate, asking how you were, no matter how she was feeling. She was alot of fun, a good story teller, and as a friend I will remember her fun laugh. Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. She may have not been able to see very well here on earth, but now she is in heaven and I am sure she can see you all now very clearly and will watch over you.

I remember Millie assisting when I was in the hospital for my oldest son's birth. I have always remembered her kindness and her gentle words. Truly an angel and a sweetheart. There should be MANY more like her in the world. What a dear lady she was. Some people touch your life like Millie did mine and you never forget them. My son is now 26.
