Burial at Greenmound Cemetery in Leola.
Mildred died Sunday, Dec. 7 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.
Visitation is from 1-6 p.m., Wednesday with family present from 4-6 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen.
Mildred Muhlbeier was born March 1, 1924, at Moscow Township, McPherson Co. to Jacob and Lulu (Fulker) Muhlbeier. She attended Leola High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1943.
Mildred married Oliver Turnwall on Oct. 11, 1943, at St. James Lutheran Church, Leola. They made their home on the family farm. Oliver died on June 7, 1970, and Mildred continued living on the farm until 1973. She taught Sunday school at St. James Lutheran Church. Mildred worked in the kitchen at Hub City Livestock Sales Barn in Aberdeen for 21 years.
She was the president of Senior Citizens for nine years and a member of two bridge clubs.
Grateful for having shared Mildred's life are her daughters, Carmel Heyd, Aberdeen; Susan (Don) Hoffman, Leola; stepdaughters, Karen Vietmeier, Phoenix, Ariz.; Judy (Robert) Krammer, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; stepsons, Dwight (Peggy) Vietmeier, St. Paul, Minn.; Tim (Julie) Vietmeier, Cottage Grove, Minn.; sisters, Alice Wolff, Bowdle, S.D.; Florence (Ben) Geffre, Aberdeen; granddaughter, Kristi (Michael) Bockorny; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Connor, and Emily Bockorny; and nine stepgrandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Oliver Turnwall; son, Thomas Oliver Turnwall; second husband, Arden Vietmeier; sisters, Lillian Howell; Clara Fischer; and son-in-law, Ronald Heyd.
