John Mills Obituary
Mills Sr. John Harry Mills Sr., 62, of Palmyra, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. John was owner and operator of J. H. Mills General Contractor and an independent installer for Lowe's. His brother, Phillip Mills, joined him in death later the same day. He was also predeceased by his parents, Wiley and Margaret Mills; brothers, Wiley "Sonny" Mills Jr. and James Mills; and a brother-in-law, Donald Edwards. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Richardson Mills; his children; Lorie Rose Waters and Bill, John Harry Mills Jr. and Melissa, Arthur Spence Mills and Rachel Jean Mills; his stepchildren, Sharon Wyant and Donald and Doug Payne Jr.; grandchildren, Evan, Emily, Brandon, Ben, Adam, Pierce, and Jacob; his sisters, Virginia McDonald and George, Shirley Edwards, Mary Cichon and Steve, Martha Patterson and Donnie, and Lisa Mills; sisters-in-law, Sue and Vickie Mills; his brother, Phillip's lifelong companion, Phil Suggs; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Macedonia United Methodist Church with the Reverend Linda Crabbs officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's name may be made to Macedonia United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Faye Stewart, 1124 Holland Creek Road, Louisa, VA 23093.
