Miles Hadley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 27 to Dec. 28, 2023.
We are sad to announce the passing of Miles Gerard Hadley. He died at the young age of 26 years old on December 17, 2023. Miles passed away at home surrounded by loved ones after a year long difficult battle with cancer.

Miles is preceded by his father Gerard Hadley and his partner Janice Baker, as well as his mother Jessica Rizzi. He is also survived by his brother Joshua Driskell, his sisters Rain Hadley and Janell Smith; his grandfather Ron Rizzi; his godfather Steve Kelly; his aunts Gail, Marie, Sheila, Daisy Blalock, Paige Giovinco and Florianne Perez; and his uncles Gerard Perez and Henri Perez. Miles also leaves behind the love of his life Allyssa Baker and best friend Jose Carrasquillo. As well as the best dog ever, Hellga Hadley.

Miles was born at Brigham Women's hospital in Boston, Massachusetts on January 2nd, 1997. Growing up he was known for always being the happiest with a big smile. Whether it was being dragged to the department store with his mom Jess or going to swim everyday after school. From a young age he was always independent and wise beyond his years. Miles graduated from Quincy High School in 2015, where he joined the wrestling team and became co-captain by his senior year. Wrestling worked as a great foundation for self confidence and character for himself. He always loved music, reading, playing world of warcraft, and going to Jamaica. One of his driving forces later in his life was the passion for bartending and wanting to get better constantly. He started working in bakeries and food carts that ended up leading him to work at Legal Sea Foods. Working there he was able to work every position possible from hosting to serving to running food to even bussing, he did it all. He found that making others happy through hospitality at the highest level was something he loved and wanted to do for the rest of his life. One thing about Miles is that he always had a persistent thirst for knowledge and teaching others, whether it was learning about his nurses families in the hospital or soaking up knowledge on cocktails from Palmer Matthews at Pearl & Lime. At Pearl and Lime, Miles was able to hone in on his bartending skills and grow exponentially creatively and technique wise. Besides being a workplace for Miles it ended up becoming a place of solace and peace for him through good times and bad, its where he met the love of his life, its where he found his own village of people that care for and love one another.

Miles is the funniest, most stubborn, smartest, happiest person you've ever met. Most people call him an old soul in the sense he was unapologetically himself in every sense of the word. He was known for his random dancing & singing Int'l Players Anthem wherever, whenever. His personality spilled into everything he did and he always held everyone to a high standard not because he was rude but because he always wanted to see everyone at their best, especially the people around him.

Memorial services will be held on his birthday at the VFW Avon Post 8892 on January 2nd, 2024 5PM-8PM.

I loved taking care of Miles on 7D. He was stubborn but very smart. He was challenging in the best way. I joked with Alyssa that he had a Pete Davidson sense of humor and smile. I´m so sad to see his battle is over but so glad to have met him and I know he is at peace looking down on all of you.

The first time I laid eyes on Miles was the day he was born and I burst into tears because he was so beautiful and perfect. He was an incredibly fun and sweet little boy who grew into a kind, intelligent, passionate, wonderful young man. He faced his battle with grace and courage that humbled me. It was a privilege to know him and he deserved so much more. I love you, Miles... and always will.

I went to high school with Miles and he always stood out to me as one of the nicest people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. Miles was kind to everyone - he always wanted to see people smile and would go out of his way to make someone laugh or feel welcome. I will always admire Miles for his humility. Crossing paths with him brightened mine and countless lives around him. You will be missed, always.

I did not know Miles personally but I had the pleasure of meeting him through his father every time he spoke of his Son he would smile and talk about how proud he was. Never got to meet him but by how those who loved him spoke of him I understood that in him lay a fighter that even when odds were against him he tried going against it he was loved and will be missed
