Miles was a teammate of mine on the cross country and track teams at Burbank High School. Later, when attending CSUN I stopped by our gym and saw Miles competing for CSULA on the trampoline. He never failed to amaze me with his athletic ability. So gifted and modest.Sad to hear of his passing, but happy to hear he found life doing the things he enjoyed. Bill Gohlke Class of 1963

So many great memories. Hanging out with you on the Strand in Manhattan Beach in the late 70's. Selling frozen bananas at the hometown fair. Bus trips to Mammoth. We'll miss you, Miles. Rest in peace.

Ah, my friend. Gone too soon. That laugh. That smile. That mischievousness. I thought we had time for more.

Will miss you so much my dear friend. You were always there for me in good times and bad. Lots of good meals, watching sunsets, fireworks, car races, etc. I hope your new view is as wonderful as from your apartment.

As a Sierra white water guide and trip ops manager I spent many hours talking with Miles when he drove bus trips for South Bay River Rafters and River Mountain Action from So Cal to Coloma. He was in high demand by the rafting outfitters and in the winter the ski clubs, not only for his solid all weather driving but for his exceptional people skills. Everyone loved Miles. He was always cheerful, kind, and humorous. It was always a pleasure being with Miles. The best memories of my many years of rafting include Miles. He made everyone's experience all the better. A class act, an old soul, a rare individual. The world would be far better with more like Miles.
