Milt Burton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 4, 2005.
BURTON, Milt Jr August 6, 1951-May 31, 2005 "I played hard... I won... I will always live on in your hearts" His joie de vivre, his beaming smile and sense of humor will be sorely missed by his wife Christina; daughter Katrina Kuryliw; sisters Judy (Dave), Muggy (Chiquilian), Donna (Cliff); brothers Bob (RoseAnn), Rolly (Dee), Bill (Dawn), his many nieces and nephews, family-in-law, and many friends who knew and loved him. He is predeceased by his parents, Milton and Florence. Milt was surrounded by an effervescent loving family who challenged one another to think and live "outside the box". True to this challenge, he traveled extensively and was involved in many entrepreneurial ventures. He lived 38 years in Canada, 15 years in Santa Barbara, and the last year in Costa Rica. His greatest passion was skydiving; he competed nationally and internationally, started over 7 skydiving drop zones and did stunt work for commercials, TV and movies. He loved as he lived: with truth, simplicity, and passion. His family's wishes are to have a Memorial to Milt in the three places he loved the most, Costa Rica; Santa Barbara; and Edmonton. Donations in his memory may be sent to Milt Burton Memorial Fund, PO Box 6068 Santa Barbara. Ca 93160 Open house at 3 p.m. and a Memorial Skydive and Celebration of Life at 6 p.m., Friday, July 8, at Eden North Parachute School (35 km west of Edmonton on Highway 16 or 16A to Rge Rd #20 (Lake Eden Rd). Turn north (right) for 6 km to Township Rd #540. Left for 1 km. Ph 438-2683 (Donna) Lake Eden (489-9000)
