Milton Wines

Tinton Falls

Milton Wines, passed away in peace on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in Danvers, MA. Milt was born in West Orange on Aug. 21, 1922. He lived in Asbury Park for many years before moving to Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls. He graduated from Asbury Park High School and attended Trinity College and Brown University. Milt served in the Navy during WW II before working at Fort Monmouth as a technical writer. After retiring from the government, he worked for a number of companies, including Computer Sciences Corporation, supporting the Army. Milt was an excellent athlete. He excelled at basketball, football and tennis which he played well into his 70s. He coached many youth teams including Little League baseball and Pop Warner football. He was an avid sports fan.

Milt was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Wines. He is survived by his son, Robert Wines and his wife Marcia; his daughter, Linda Petillo and her husband Joseph; grandchildren, Kristina Grossman, Kelly Wines, Bryn Petillo and Carissa Borgia; and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Grossman and Jason Borgia. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Donald Richardson; sister-in-law, Winnie D'Agostino; and dear companion, Betty Harlow, along with many nieces and nephews.

A private family service is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who desire to make a contribution do so to the Peggy Wines Scholarship, c/o Meridian Ann May Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, 2020 Route 33, Suite 260, Neptune, NJ 07754.
