Dr. Mimi Robidoux Obituary
Dr. Mimi Meury Robidoux was born on February 29, 1940, a leap year, and passed away abruptly on December 26, 2013 at the age of 73, with loved ones by her side.
She was an amazingly happy and positive person even when faced with adversity. Through her positive attitude and joyful outlook on life, she was a blessing to others, and inspired everyone who knew her with her quick wit, warmth and tenacity.
She loved learning and was a remarkable teacher. She dedicated her life to helping and educating others from elementary children to adults, including teaching life skills to prisoners. At the time of her passing, she worked at Central Arizona College. One of her favorite mottos was, "Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
Mimi grew up in Manitou Springs, Colorado with her four sisters and younger brother. She began her college education after raising her family eventually earning her doctorate degree in Psychology from California Coast University. She was a certified drug and alcohol counselor and instructor for many years, helping hundreds of people in their recovery.
In 1985, she married her best friend, Bill Robidoux and lived in Corona, California. They enjoyed traveling, the beach and playing tennis. They eventually settled in San Tan Valley, Arizona. She loved the desert beauty and appreciated every detail along her path. She was always working to preserve the natural environment and enjoyed volunteering at Friends of the San Tan Mountain Regional Park, where she led tours and taught photography classes. Nature photography was one of her many passions in life in addition to 5K races and gardening. Mimi demonstrated her faith in God through playing the piano, guitar and harmonica and in her every day outlook on life.
She leaves behind her husband Bill Robidoux, son and daughter-in-law, Curt and Dawn Elmore, daughter Paulla Elmore and son Doug Elmore. As well as one grandchild Chance Roberts in addition to three stepchildren Shane and Justin Robidoux and Sarah Vaughn, as well as her beloved dog Merci.
We will remember her bright smile, big blue eyes and her amazing spirit.

Mimi, I just heard yesterday of your passing...the world is definitely short one angel. You were my rock through school, through a few bumps in my marriage, and an inspiration to ALL who knew you. Words just cannot express what you have done for me, and how many people I was able to help because of you. I know you are missed, from everyone who was blessed enough to know you. My condolences to your family. R.I.P.

Mimi - painted this beautiful wall in her backyard in the middle of the Arizona Hot Hot Summer she was so proud of her work I had to share with you.

Marian, my tenacious and kind, sweet sister, I will miss you into eternity. We had a very special bond, and always had so many laughs and times to make light out of some situations that … well you know. My prayers are for your children to find comfort & strength and love knowing you are at home with our Lord.Curt, Paulla, and Doug; hubby Bill, I pray that you each will hold close in your heart, that you have been a very special part of my sisters well lived life. I miss my friend so much. Like Paula she was the cheerleader in my life and she helped me through many trying times. She was so strong she helped me work in my backyard and she out worked both my husband and myself. We were like sisters. I will never forget our ride through the streets of Florence in a horse and buggy we were like to school girls out on a new adventure. Each day she would come in to work and tell me how beautiful I was and she made me feel like I really was beautiful. She had a beautiful spirit and I know she is with the angels. I love you Mimi...Barbara Encinas [email protected]

Such a nice tribute Paulla, that you have written to & about your Mom!
I couldn't agree more with her small but mighty impact as an angel on this earth. I am richly blessed to have spent some time with her last year, in her home & doing things she loves! Missing Aunt Marian #LOVE

My mom was an angel on Earth.
Although she was little, she was the strongest person I have ever known. She was determined to succeed at anything and everything she set her mind to. She was a teacher at heart and as her daughter, I was one of her lifelong students. She was a master story teller, an entertainer, a wise counselor and a creative spirit full of love and life. She was the cheerleader on the sidelines of my life, day in and day out. I will miss the enthusiasm that she brought to every situation no matter how trivial and the love that radiated from her like the sun.

I only met Mimi once when my daughter was inducted into the National Honor Society at CAC. It seemed like I had known her forever after hearing about her from Rosie. She was Rosie's mentor and provided guidance and inspiration to her that will always be remembered. I am so thankful to this amazing lady and I know her ethics and encouragement will be with Rosie forever. In difficult times I know we will ask "What would Mimi do?" She will be missed but in our hearts forever.

Thank you all for the many kind words written about my Mom. I am the oldest of her three children. What a blessing it has been to have had such a wonderful and special Mom. I have read all the awesome testimonies, with a lot of different ways to describe what she has meant to everyone, and I agree wholeheartedly. I would like to add that among many of her other attributes, she was an "Encourager". One definition in the dictionary is to inspire with courage, sprit, or confidence. She also had an incredible ability to turn over all circumstances to the Lord, the source of her "infectious joy" and enabling her to be that "ray of sunlight". I am thankful that she has set an example of having such huge faith in the Lord and that her encouragement and inspiration will live on with us forever!

As I mourn my beautiful little sister, Marian Evelyn, with Love, YES:
~ I find myself where the heart understands the nature of its journey. The body of the beloved as the gift bestowed. But only temporarily. Given freely, but now to be earned. Given without thought, and now loss has made me thoughtful. Not to make loss beautiful, But to make loss the place where beauty starts. Marian, you are SOooo beautiful to me, now and always. I Love You. Big Sister, Joanne.

Mimi was one of the liveliest, spunkiest people I have ever met. She was also very determined. I never saw her upset or irritated. She took care of our center in the evenings and ALWAYS made sure EVERYTHING was locked up. We will have to be vigilant in her absence, but, I am sure she will still be watching over us from Heaven. We will miss you, Mimi.

Mimi was a ray of sunlight whose light will continue to shine in the hearts of everyone who ever met her. We worked together at the CareUnit in the 80's where she met and married my friend, Bill. We all had great times together, including their wedding in Las Vegas, a vacation in Lake Tahoe and many, many hours at the beach. Mimi was always an inspiration to me, as well as a loving friend. My sincere condolences go out to Bill and to her children.

Paulla, Curt, Doug and Bill,
Mimi was not only my sister, but one of my best friends. She had so many talents, I always liked to kid that when I grew up I wanted to be just like her. I will dearly miss her 2+ hour phone calls, but also know she is in a better place, and at peace now. Love to you all, Aunt Barb

Paula, Curt & Doug,
I'm so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing! But take comfort in that she knew how much you loved her, and that she is with our Lord in Paradise....Death isn't the end, but the beginning of a new & wondrous life, and when the time comes, you will see her again. Love you & praying that God will give you the strength to meet the coming days without your Mom.
