Mimi Stern Obituary
Born on March 25, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, Mimi dedicated her life to helping others. She earned her Master's in Social Work degree in 1984 and went on to work at Stony Brook University Hospital for over two decades. Through her work as a social work supervisor, she provided guidance and support to countless individuals and families until her retirement in 2012.
Mimi was deeply committed to social justice and was a passionate advocate for women's rights and gun control. Her dedication to these causes reflected her unwavering belief in fairness and equality.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Stern; her daughters, Amy (Matt) and Emily (Pete); and her beloved granddaughters, Isabelle and Stella.
Mimi's legacy of compassion and advocacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
