Ming was born in Yinping Guangdong, China and immigrated to Vauxhall, Alberta, Canada on September 1, 1953. Can anyone ever forget Mings " small steaks" ?
They probably had another name but that's what we ordered and Ming happily served them up any hour of the day or as frequently happened with the oil workers, well into the night. They were so good and he never turned anyone away no matter how late they showed up. He was very proud of his three tall handsome sons and he taught them well. Vauxhall treasured him as a fine citizen in their small town . Our family has spread out across the province and will always remember the Modern Cafe and Mings with great fondness.
