Chicago, IL - Ming-Ming S. Kuo, age 80, passed away on Saturday, December 30 in Chicago, IL. She was a resident of Chicago, IL since 2008 and had previously lived in Muncie, IN since 1969.

Ming-Ming was born in Shanghai, China on November 17, 1937 and was the daughter of Z.D. Sung and F.C. Hung. She moved to Taipei, Taiwan in 1949 and attended Tunghai University and majored in English Literature. Ming-Ming emigrated to the United States in 1960 and pursued graduate studies including an M.A. in English at Mount Holyoke College, an M.S. in Library Service at Columbia University, and an M.A. in Executive Development for Public Service at Ball State University. Ming-Ming spent 38 years as a Collections Development Librarian and Associate Professor of Library Science at Ball State University and retired in 2008. She will be remembered as a strong-willed woman and a lover of classical music, books, theatre, and the arts.

Ming-Ming is survived by her husband, Dr. You-Yuh Kuo, her son Sheau-wu (wife Helen) Kuo, her daughter Sheau-ming (husband Ian) Ross, and her five grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Linlin and her brother Chah-Moh.

A memorial service celebrating Ming-Ming's life will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2515 Central Park Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201 at 1pm, Saturday, January 6, 2018 with a tea reception immediately to follow. Private interment at Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church, 2700 North Moore Road, Muncie, IN 47304.

Ming-Ming was a very kind, dear friend and colleague. She was also a great mentor. I miss her dearly.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Ming-Ming Kuo. She was a very dear lady and I enjoyed working with her and knowing her since I started at BSU in 1980.
Keep all of your memories in your heart and she will always be with you.
