I remember you and Minnie coming to my home in Greensboro during the 70's and found Minnie to be a wonderful person full of life, spiritual energy and joy. Although I know she will be deeply missed, I hope you will hold always in your heart the memory of her love and beauty.

Mr. Stevens and family,
I was blessed to know Minnie for many years through my work at RHA. Even after I left RHA she continued to be a friend and a true blessing in my life. I never met anyone else that was so nice and full of life. I never heard her say a cross or negative word against anyone. She loved her family and had a true compassion for her job and the people she served. I will truly miss her smiles and kind words. I hope you will all find comfort in knowing that she has a special place in heaven. Please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you through this difficult time. May God Bless each of you and may you find strength in his love.

A year or so ago I discovered that Minnie was working at RHA/Howell's here in Greensboro. I had known her when my son lived at Horizons residential school in Rural Hall. It was such a treat to see her infectious smile and for us to share a big hug! She was always so thoughtful and caring; it made me feel really good to know that she would be helping Jonathan now in Greensboro! I will miss her and never forget her special care.

March 24, 2008

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Minnie and Charles’ family. In my life there have been but a few people who brought me peace, joy and laughter when I was in their presence. Minnie, God Bless Her, was one of those people. Even when Minnie was angry, she glowed!
I worked with Minnie at RHA Health Services in 1992 and then again from 1994 – 1999. In some of my darkest moments in life Minnie made me smile and reminded me to look at what the Lord had given me. Whether it was at work, singing along with my band during rehearsals, or roaring down the Nantahala River, Minnie always had a zest for life that was contagious. When I taught my twins to always wash their hands I could hear Minnie voice teaching myself and the other Hab. Techs., back in 1992, to do the same.
Heaven is much better place now that Minnie Stevens adorns its halls. God Bless you Minnie.

Mrs. Magnolia, Charles and Jocelyn "Bate", please receive our sympathy and know that our prayers are with you. It was a blessing to have met and love both Minnie and "Bate" . It is not often that you meet people with such loving and lasting warm spirits. I am glad to have been a part of Minnie's life. She was "total package" (someone to talk with, someone to love, someone to MAKE YOU LAUGH). The Hampton Jazz Fest won't be the same, but we must continue tradition. God has truly received an angel back in heaven. Continue to trust in Him and He will see you through.
