Miriam T. Funk, age 96 of Winter Park, Florida passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on September 22, 2017.She was born in East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 29, 1921 to Samuel and Florence Tilbrook. She grew up on the family farm, graduated from Sewickley High School and attended Theil College. She married her husband Jack A. Funk on April 6, 1946. As a military wife, she enjoyed traveling and raising her four children. Miriam worked in retail at the Navy Exchange before she retired. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Irwin Chapter. Miriam was a caring individual with a big heart who touched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her four children Linda Jepson (Allan), Jean Balderson (Ken), Jack Funk (Christine) and Terri Parsons (Gary). Ten grandchildren Louis Wendorf (Gina), Lee Wendorf (Kalon), Allen Jepson, Jaclynn Garner (Kevin), Chad Parsons (Kathy), Christopher Parsons, Chase Parsons (Gabby), Chandler Parsons, Jennifer Funk, and Christian Funk. Nine great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial be made to VITAS Healthcare 2201 Lucien Way, Suite 100, Maitland, FL 32751.
