Dr. Megahed gave my family 20 more years with my Father, JohnE. Kennedy. He took him off of all the medications other doctors had prescribed and got down to healing Dad. He was a very kind and compassionate Gentleman who also helped me. He steered me against having unnecessary surgery on my hands. The world needs more Doctors like Dr. Megahed. I a, glad that I was able to thank him personally for what he did for me, and more importantly, for Dad, and our family.

To the family of the most honorable M. Salah Megahed, MD:
There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of your husband and father, as many years ago he presented me with a parchment depicting the "glorious mother". It hangs in our bedroom and I treasure his gift as he bestowed it to me as an act of kindness. You see the kind doctor was my mentor and friend.
My family and I are saddened by his passing but happy with the knowledge that he is at peace.

I know that he has touched and healed so many lives. His first love was for his wife and family - this is what he taught me.

In the summer of 1983 I was referred to Dr. Megahed by the U.S. Air Force. I wanted to be a pilot but several years earlier had been in a car accident and suffered a potentially disqualifying concussion. The Air Force asked him whether I was fit to fly – in essence, my future was in his hands. After an EEG, X-ray, and very warm interview he pronounced me in excellent health and said he was “sure I would be a very good pilot.” Twenty-five years and 2,500 flying hours later I am still grateful for his diagnosis and the difference it made in my life.

Salah was our mentor and our friend. Yes, he taught us neurology. But more importantly, he taught us humanity and how to treat all people with honesty and dignity. We will miss him dearly but the world is a better place for all he left here.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Megahed. I worked for
him in his North Tonawanda office in
the early 1980's-He was a wonderful
and caring man. I had the priviledge of visiting with him again a couple of years ago and brought my 9 year old daughter with me. It was so nice to see him again. He had such a bright smile and was so happy to see me. He will be sadly
missed. He was a wonderful doctor.

Maie, Hatem, Amre and Nivine, We all are deeply saddened and grieve for the passing of your husband and father. Salah, was our brother, a friend, an uncle who enriched our family with his presence. His kindness, understanding and character has served us as model in thoughtfulness. Salah’s smile and jovial outlook will always be remembered. I dearly wish the kindness of his soul, the memory of his words, love and grace of his actions to live within us and around us. Please know that your sorrow is shared by all the Razik's as we bless the Megahed family with strength during this time. Salah was truly a remarkable friend.

As a scared to death 13 year old boy, diagnosed with Bell's Palsy, I had thought the whole world had come to a end for me. Fortunately, I was under the care of the wisest mind my youthful self had ever encountered. As a Biology teacher, I try to instill the same love for the study of life, service to others, and self- deprecating humor that I still remember about Dr. Megahed to this day. 40 years later, with absolutely no residual affects, I still tell others of the wonderful Doctor I had when I was a little boy. My condolences to his family.

I had the priviledge to know the good doctor as both a nurse and the parent of a patient. His caring and understanding will always be remembered. As a nurse we talked often, I most love to hear about his family and his home land, his face would light up the room, esp. when talking about his family. He would tell us some day he was going to go on a freighter ship to cruise and write his memiors, It would have been a book worth reading. May you be comforted by those who share your loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family and the good doctor.

Many years ago when my Dad, Joseph Skrlin, had a stroke, Dr. Megahed was the only one who came to his aid and explained to him what had happened. He provided us with hope, and caring, and a sense of love that I will always remember. He was a true humanitarian and the world has lost a great man.

There is nothing left to say about such a wonderful, wise, caring, smart and kind man. He was the first Dr. to ever truly help my husband with an illness that no other Dr. could. He was also my friend first and Dr. second. To the Megahed family my heart aches for all of you as he loved you dearly and always talked about everyone of you. He will be missed!!!
