Monique Gutierrez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 19, 2021.
February 25, 1976 - November 8, 2021 Monique was born February 25, 1976, in San Bernardino, Ca. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto and San Bernardino Valley College in San Bernardino. Monique was employed by San Bernardino County in the office of County Counsel. During Monique's school years, she took a semester and studied in Florence, Italy. That experience opened her heart to a world of travel. She traveled in France and visited different cities. She also visited different cities in Italy, Rome being one of her favorite because she had a spiritual experience at the Vatican when she was able to touch the hand of Pope John Paul, as he stopped to bless the group of nuns and students sitting there. She was one of the students. She called home crying tears saying something special had happened to her, but she could not explain it. Monique loved to take road trips up the coast of California and the southern coastline. She always made sure that she took care of everyone's needs who were traveling with her. She pampered and spoiled us all. Monique also loved to fish. A sport introduced to her by Rohan, her "brother man" as she would call him. She loved lake fishing. Something she did a lot when she lived in New Mexico and here in California when time permitted. She also loved deep sea fishing. Music was her love and everything she did, she did to music. She would cook to music, work to music, clean to music, entertain friends with music, entertain her nephew and nieces and friends with music, attended concerts, loved international music, light opera, country music, mariachi/Latin music, music from the forties through the present day. Whatever you wanted to hear, Monique would find it for you. Monique lived life to the fullest, touching the lives of many along the way. She loved family and family traditions. She loved her friends and their families. Monique was "auntie Monique" to all her friend's kids. She left quite an imprint on the lives of everyone she touched. Monique will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Our lives will never be the same without Monique and the joy and laughter she brought to us all. Monique will forever be in our thoughts and in our hearts. She is survived by her mother Nancy Gutierrez; her sister Regina Kuruppu; her nephew/nieces, great nephews/great nieces, aunts/uncles and loving cousins. Monique was preceded in death by her grandparents, Romeo & Nasaria (Challa) Palazzo, Miguel Sr. & Celia Gutierrez, her father, Miguel Jr. (Michael) Gutierrez, her brother Miguel III (Michael) Gutierrez. On Wednesday, December 22, 2021, a Rosary will be held at 10:00 am and a Mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 339 N Sycamore Ave., Rialto, Ca. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in San Bernardino (Highland & Waterman) Mt. View Cemetery www.dignitymemorial.com

I don't know Monique but I wish I would have. She sounds like such a beautiful soul. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. May God have mercy on her soul and may she be granted eternal rest in the kingdom of Heaven. God bless you.

I had the opportunity to work with Monique twice at the Law Offices of Lerner, Moore. She left and then she missed us so much, she came back. I will miss her laugh, smile and her witty personality. Rest in peace my dear friend. No more suffering. God Bless!
