Monte Richard Piper, Sr., 87, of Kingwood, Texas, entered into rest on December 18, 2018. He was born in Minot, North Dakota on July 13, 1931.

Monte graduated from Lansford High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University. He was married to Anna Marie Mango for 62 blessed years.

Monte had a career in computer services, and over the years worked with many companies such as IBM, GE, Honeywell, Panhandle Eastern Pipeline, and the city of Austin, Texas. He had a passion for flying, travel, golf, and computers.

He is survived by his children Teresa Hawley and husband Louis, Monte Piper, Jr. and wife Kathleen, Mary Newcomer and husband Rex; grandchildren Brian Hawley and wife Michelle, Stephen Hawley and wife Jessica, Melissa Talbert and husband Jack, Elizabeth Kelamis and husband Evan, Alex Newcomer and wife Kaitlyn, Nyssa Boettcher and husband Derek, Monte Piper III and wife Christine, Logan Piper and wife Vanessa, Jacob Piper, Shannon Day and husband Josh; 18 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held in his honor on Monday, December 31, 2018 beginning at 11:00 a.m. inside the Chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. The Celebration of Life service will commence at 12:00 p.m. inside the Chapel, after which Mr. Piper will be escorted to the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, where he will be laid to rest with honors.
